MiFID

The Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID) is the framework of European Union (EU) legislation setting the requirements regarding the way investment services are provided across the European Economic Area, including the requirement to provide clients with information on the way in which services are provided.  MiFID was applied in Cyprus from November 2007.

The services provided by The Cyprus Investment and Securities Corporation Ltd (CISCO) include receiving, transmitting and executing client orders in financial instruments, investment advice, portfolio management and investment banking.

Your legal relationship with CISCO will be governed by the terms and conditions of the Agreement for the Provision of Investment Services and Activities and Ancillary Services you enter into with CISCO (the "Agreement"), together with the terms of the Investment Services Documents.  Copies of the applicable Investment Services Documents will also be annexed to your Agreement, but you can request for additional copies from CISCO at any time.  If the terms of any of the Investment Services Documents are inconsistent with any term in the Agreement, the term in the Agreement will apply.

The terms of the Agreement will set out your client categorisation (i.e., as a retail client, a professional client or an eligible counterparty) and the services provided by CISCO. Depending on your categorisation and the services being provided, different Investment Services Documents will apply.
