MiFID II

The Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID) is the framework of European Union (EU) legislation setting the requirements regarding the way investment services are provided across the European Economic Area, including the requirement to provide clients with information on the way in which services are provided.  MiFID was applied in Cyprus from November 2007.

MiFID II has been in effect since the 3rd of January 2018.  The purpose of this new legislative framework is to strengthen investor protection and improve the functioning of financial markets making them more efficient, resilient and transparent.

The services provided by The Cyprus Investment and Securities Corporation Ltd (CISCO) include receiving, transmitting and executing client orders in financial instruments, investment advice and investment banking.
